Central Taiwan Science Park (CTSP) is originated from the declaration of Green Silicon Island Policy or President Chen. In the 85th Government Meeting held on Jan. 8, 2001, an important decision was resolved that a feasibility study of Establishing Central Taiwan Science Park shall be completed within 6 months. After entering the physical development stage of CTSP, with the joined forces of central and local governments, plus the adoption of mode of building plants and the public facilities synchronously, it took only 10 months plus 5 days from the ratification of Preparation Plan to Commencing the Construction. The first business entered CTRSP site on July 28, 2003. This broke the record of development of Science Park. With the timing, location and human resources advantages plus the government timely assistance, an industrial cluster is gradually forming up. With the Port of Taichung and Taichung International Airport (Cing Chuan Gang) only next door to the Park, it is linking up Hsinchu, and Tainan Science Parks and is playing a core role in the Technology Island and shining in the global stage.
